Today's Kool Idea: Dad's Root Beer Throat Drops

Bookmark and Share
Flu season is definitely still in force, and with the groundhog seeing his shadow last week (six more weeks of winter...sigh), who knows when it's really going to end. Let's face it...when our kids get sick, and many of them are, we're just a few days away from catching it ourselves (again). That's right...stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, fever, chills etc...this is one virus that shows no mercy.

We at The Daily Kool can empathize, especially those of us with that nasty cough. You know the one we're talking about. That dry, hacking cough that just seems to go on for weeks, keeping us up all night, hindering our activities during the day. What's a person to do? Most cough drops taste...well, like cough drops. We wanted to find something that tastes and works great.

We found the solution at our local Walgreens. Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer Throat Drops taste amazing, and have those soothing menthol vapors our poor throats need. Seriously, you will hardly know you're taking medicine...they are that delicious. And, at the more than reasonable price of 2/$3, Dad's is just what the doctor (and pocketbook) ordered. We challenge you to find a better tasting drop. Our only complaint is that it is exclusive to Walgreens. The good news, though, is that there is likely to be a Walgreens close by wherever you are. Aaaahhh...what a relief!

  1. Walgreens has stopped carrying them. :(

  2. We spoke with the Dad's Root Beer Company, and here is their prompt response:

"These drops were actually licensed to be produced by Walgreens. Mention to your local Walgreens manager that you are unhappy they are gone! It might help."

Hopefully, if enough of us talk to them, we can bring the Dad's Root Beer Throat Drops back...they are without a doubt, the best tasting cough drops around!

  3. I agree, I was heartbroken they stopped making them! They are the ONLY cough drop I like! I have complained and my local walgreens management was like - well, sorry.

  4. You can always contact Walgreens on their website to ask them to reconsider.

  5. *everyone I know loves these when I have them... now I'm almost out and can't find them. I was hoping it was just my local Walgreens that stopped... crap.

  6. I am very disappointed that I can't get Dad's Old Fashioned Throat Drops any longer as they were the best lozenges ever. I have spoke with Walgreens and their response was that they don't carry them anymore.
